The Black Princesses of Ghana have this morning arrived in Costa Rica ahead of the 2022 FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup scheduled for 10th to 28th August 2022.
The team departed Ghana early hours on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 to Paris where they lost 4 – 0 to the France U-20 Women’s national team in a friendly game.
The Black Princesses who are making a sixth straight FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup appearance are paired in Group D alongside the Netherlands, United States of America and Japan.
Ghana will open her campaign against the United States of America on Thursday, August 11 before taking on Japan on Sunday, August 14 and the Netherlands on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, respectively.
Japan are the defending champions. The opening match played at the tournament will be contested between Costa Rica and Australia at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica, San José. The final is due to be held on 28 August 2022.
