Former U-20 striker Abdul Basit-Adam has successfully completed a move to premier league side Medeama Sporting Club in the ongoing transfer window, the club has announced.
Basit, 25, has joined the Tarkwa based side on a three years deal after seeing out his contract with Turkish side Çanakkale Dardanel SK. Basit’s signing comes a direct replacement for Prince Opoku Agyemang who has moved to the South African premier league. Medeama SC have a vacuum at the attacking department following the departures of Prince Opoku Agyemang and Bernard Ofori, and the arrival of Abdul Basit is expected to be a great replacement.
The former New Edubiase United striker has previously played for South African giants Free States Stars. He returned to Edubiase United before later moving to Sweden where he played for Gefle IF before joining Frej.
“I am very, very happy to be here and I’m looking forward to the season,” he told medeamasc.com
“This is a great club with a fantastic professional touch and I am happy to be part of this family.
“We want to work hard and achieve laurels for the fans and the people of Tarkwa. Its’ not going to be easy but we hope to make it count”, Basit told the Medeama’s website after completing his move.
Coach Samuel Boadu: “Basit is a great addition for us and we’re looking forward to working with him.
“He bring a lot on the table and will add quality and depth to our squad. He has pace and power and will be a great addition to our team.
“He has so far integrated well and we are looking forward to working with him.”
