Dormaa based premier league side Adauana stars have lined up three international friendly matches against lower and premier clubs in Ivory Coast, two of them confirmed with one kicking off tomorrow in Ivory Coast.
The two times league champions exited the just ended Normalization Committee Special Competition tier one after failing to qualify from the of seven clubs which included Asante Kotoko, Ashantigold SC, Medeama SC, Eleven Wonders and to mention few. The club has since been undertaking serious recruitment exercise to augment the squad as they award the possible start of the Ghana Premier League.
Aduana Stars will travel from Dormaa Ahenkro to Ivory Coast tomorrow to take on Ivorian lower division side US Tamier and return home before going back to take on Ivorian Ligue 1 side FC San Pedro.
“Management have decided that we go to Ivory Coast tomorrow”, Evans Oppong, Communications Director of Aduana told Fox Sports in an interview. “We’ve arranged three friendly matches, two clubs have confirmed for us, we are going to Aniberekro (in Ivory Coast) which is two hours journey from Dormaa Ahenkro, we will play agains a division one club of Ivory Coast called US Tamier tomorrow”, he confirmed.
The Super Cup holders returns home after tomorrow’s game against the lower division side to continue preparations ahead of the next match against the Ligue 1 side FC San Pedro on Saturday, 17th August 2019 in Ivory Coast.
“We will go to San Pedro who are based in Abidjan, they are a premiership side. All these are part of our preparations so that our new players which we’ve signed we be featured more to assess them to see if we can count on them whether in case we put other players on transfer they players can play after we sign them. About 95% of the new players will go to that Ivory Coast tour, all these are to test their strength, so we are starting tomorrow against US Tamier which is a division one team”, Evans elaborated.
As part of their recruitment, coach W.O. Tandoh has submitted to the management a list of players to be released by the club, and the management will meet the ex-serviceman and require him to provide explanation to why such players, whose names remain unknown, should be shown the exit.
