Former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan has extended felicitations to national teammate and Leicester defender Daniel Amartey on his return to competitive play for the first time in 24 months due to injury.
Amartey has been on the sidelines after suffering a serious injury in a league game against West Ham in October 2018 during a gruesome duel with Michail Antonio.
After two years of no competitive game for the 25-year old, Amartey returned to action in a premier league match against Manchester City, helping his side to shock the Citizens with a 5-2 victory at the Etihad on Sunday. Gyan took to Twitter to welcome him back to action, expressing his delight over his “brother’s” return.
“Patience, Character and positive attitude is an important aspect of this our trade called football… it’s been 2 years…welcome back bro, keep your head, I thank God for your life and career @DanAmartey“, Gyan tweeted.
