Management member of Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko, Mr Eric Amoako Twum has been appointed Deputy Minister of Information, ghanasportspage.com has gathered.
The former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Fanteakwa South Constituency was appointed as the Commercial Manager of Asante Kotoko by the club under the leadership of the club CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah back in September 2020. He joined the Asante Kotoko 8-member Management team of the club who are headed by the CEO, who were officially unveiled on September 22, 2020.
Four months into office as Commercial Manager of Asante Kotoko, Amoako-Twum who is currently a Communication Team Member of the ruling NPP government has been appointed to deputise Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, minister designate for Ghana’s Information ministry. According to a deep throat source, ghanasportspage.com has learnt that the outspoken politician has landed the appointment as part of government’s appointment of deputy ministers in its ministerial appointments.
Eric Amoako Twum has immense experience in management, having previously worked as the deputy CEO of Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) between 2017 and 2018 and holds a Masters in Marketing Management from Birmingham University.
Pending government’s official confirmation of his appointment, he is expected to make way for a new appointment by Asante Kotoko to fill his void as a Commercial Manager of the club.
