Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold SC signed the French international Romain Folz to enable them to win the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-2021.
The 30-year-old French international agreed two years deal with the Miners, Folz will have to wait before having his debut match for his new club AshantiGold SC.
Ghanasportspage.com has been told the Miners club could not complete the registration process to enable the former Bechem United coach to lead the team from the bench when AshantiGold SC face Karela United tomorrow at Anyinase Park in the first match of the second round of the league(week 18)
The coach could not obtain the work permit as well as the residence permit with which AshantiGold SC could have used to register their coach with the Ghana Football Association.
Investigations indicate that the Miners tried to fast-track the process with the Ghana Immigration Service but it could not materialize.
The team already arrived in Anyinase with their new coach Folz among the traveling squad and in charge of selecting the players for the match tomorrow but he can only watch the match from the stands as an AshantiGold official.
However, their assistant coach Thomas Duah who will lead the team as the head coach of AshantiGold SC ahead of Karela United clash.
The Miners are 10th on the league log with 22 points from 17 matches after the first half of the season. Folz will not take charge of his first game when Ashantigold takes on league leader Karela United on Matchday 18 on 4th April 2021.
