The local transfer market is boiling and active with players switching clubs like nobodies business. Coaches and players are moving to and fro in the quest to secure landmark deals for their careers, and Elmina Sharks appear be the most affected casualty as their top defender Issaka Mohammed heads to Legon Cities.
Elimina Sharks suffered another loss after losing their high rising coach Yaw Achaempong to Medeama SC following the departure of coach Samuel Boadu from the Yellow and Mauves to join Accra Hearts of Oak.
This time it’s their trusted defender lssaka Mohammed who is nearing a switch to join “The Royals”, another Premier League candidate.
A grapevine source indicates that although Elmina Sharks prefer to keep the tough to beat defender, negotiations have fallen through and Issaka Mohammed is now almost a goner!
According to our gatherings, Sharks failed to table an offer following the expiration of his contract. Many attempts by the defender to have management of the club sit for a renewed contract did not materialise, and the defender has since agreed personal terms with the Royals pending approval by Sharks.
The defender is currently having his hopes of leaving the Elmina based club hanging by threads of the club’s reluctance to release him.
As Issaka Mohammed awaits to seal a move to the Accra-based Legon Cities to chart a new course of his career, we have our eye on the grounds and will update you as and when developments arrive.
