Former Accra Hearts of Oak duo Malik Akowuah and goalkeeper Ernest Sowah have been invited for trials by Nigerian Premier League giants Heartland FC as the Ghanaian stars look to secure deals with the Owerri based club.
Hearts of Oak signed Akowuah for three seasons from Tarkwa based Medeama SC in 2016, but the sensational midfielder and the club agreed not to renew his contract after the expiration of the deal making him free to join a club of his choice. Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah, who joined the Phobians from Asante Kotoko as a free agent, has also left the club on mutual terms.
Akowuah and Sowah are expected to depart Ghana on Saturday for Owerri state, Nigeria to possibly secure a deal with the five times Nigerian Professional Football League champions.
