Former Asante Kotoko defender and coach Frimpong Manso, has heaped praises on the central defenders of Asante Kotoko.
Kotoko central defence pair of Ismail Abdul-Ganiu and Mubarik Yussif have received plaudits from the vociferous supporters of Asante Kotoko and football enthusiasts following their vintage performance.
Though the Porcupine Warriors are out of this season’s CAF inter-club competitions, Ismail Abdul-ganiu and Mubarik Yussif have bossed the central defence with brilliant.
The telepathy and chemistry around them are ravishing-making them extraordinary among their peers.
It is not surprising that the two have been named in the Black Stars squad preparing for AFCON qualifying match against South Africa.
Speaking about the sparkling pair of Ismael Abdul-Ganiu and Yussif Mubarik, the former Kotoko defender lauded their unmatched abilities to read the game and the understanding existing between the two.
“I must confess that I am hugely impressed with the performance of Ismael Abdul-Ganiu and Mubarik Yussif. They have really indicated how brilliant they are thus far.”
He added that, They’ve got great abilities to read the game so well and have deeper understanding. They know who goes where and mark this player. They have all the qualities of top central defenders.”
The Porcupine Warriors are now occupying the 7th position with 22 points.
Kotoko have played 13 league games out of 16 matches.
The pair will be tested tomorrow as the face Hearts of Oak in Ghana’s version of El-classico at the Accra Sports Stadium.
