Asante Kotoko held Techiman ELeven Wonders to a drawn game in their Ghana Premier League Week 18 encounter at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Tachiman on Saturday.
Brazilian import Fabio Gama netted his first ever official goal for the Porcupine Warriors as early as 7th minute into the game. The game ended 1-1 after ELeven Wonders levelled to ease the early pressure by the visitors.
Asante Kotoko came into to the game as the favourites to carry the day, and they started the game with high intensity.
Goalkeeper Razak Abalora proved solid on the day, but his efforts was not enough to keep anothe clean sheet for himself. ELeven Wonders star Samuel Boakye grabbed the equaliser for his side before half time.
Coach Abdulai Gale made changes, brought in fresh limps with the aim of restoring their lead, but tactical Ignatius Osei Fosu, head coach of the home side had answers to every strategy adopted by the visitors.
The goal against Asante Kotoko today means Samuel Boakye has now scored three goals for ELeven Wonders in the premier league this season. Asante Kotoko’s great passer Fabio Gama has his name added to the club’s list of league goal scorers this season.
Boakye’s equaliser denied the Porcupines what would have been a crucial win, but they still have less to worry about as they count on their outstanding game to make amends. Kotoko has not won the league for the past six seasons and has the ambition of ending the drought in this current campaign.
