Queation 1: Igor , you retired football in 2017, What is life like after hanging your boots?
Igor Lolo: Oh after football, I first wanted to rest and get away from it a bit to take time with my family. But I really couldn’t. i am in constant demand.
Quetion 2: Are you therefore preparing a retraining in the world of football?
Igor Lolo: I’m going to join the staff of a club in Romania (Pandurii). We will see. It’s a new challenge. Very interesting. It’s another part of my life that begins. It will be very enriching. We will try to rub this to find out how it goes on the other side. I’m going to try to bring my seriousness and my experience to try to grow this team, it’s an exciting challenge. It’s good to start.
Quetion 3: What memories do you keep of your training at ASEC under Jean-Marc Guillou?
Igor Lolo : There was no better training. An almost perfect group. We only thought of football. We got up with a smile to work. The Academy allowed us to be great in football and even after. Kolo Touré, Didier Zokora, Arouna Dindane, Marco Né, Gilles Yapi Yapo, Siaka Tiéné and so many others. We realized that we could be the future of Ivorian football. We already saw ourselves in Europe, professionals. Clubs had to come.
Quetion 4: How was life at Belgium, in Beveren, in winter 2004?
Igor Lolo: Coach Jean-Marc used Beveren as a springboard for a lot of us. It was a small club, but we had a lot of fun, we did not take the lead. We were not asked for results even if we had hardship but we really gain an experience of the African Champions League. We still reached the Belgian Cup final, lost to Bruges.
Quetion 5: You only stay a few months and you went to Metalurg Donetsk, to join Yaya Touré, in the summer. Why?
Igor Lolo: Yaya left there three months after my arrival in Beveren. I found it in Ukraine. I signed my first professionall football.
Igor had his first time radio interview with Foot Mercato FM Toady.
