Jerry Ahmed Shaib is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal
Development Authority (CODA), President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation,
Board Member of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Board Member of the Special
Olympics Committee, and a Legal Practitioner by profession.
Most sportsmen and women in the coastal belt see him as the father of all. He feeds lots of these sportsmen most especially boxers, athletes, and soccer players. His passion for sports coupled with the sacrifices to the sports which is the backbone and eye of Ghana Olympic teams makes him the right candidate for the position.
Jerry has always been a sports enthusiast, has remained very active in supporting
the youth in sports, and maintains extensive ties with associations within the
sporting fraternity.
In the year 2018, he was Ghana’s CHEF DU MISSION at the
Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018.
Jerry believes in Servant Leadership and has been labeled as a grassroots man
because of his unique ability to work with all sides to drive execution, he has
demonstrated in a plethora of ways, whether mobilizing resources from FRIENDS,
GOVERNMENT or CORPORATE INSTITUTIONS to support causes or leveraging
on his background to deliver results.
Jerry understands the strength of collectivism and has harnessed its values as one
of his guiding principles throughout his career. He has always been a voice
relentlessly advocating for positive change.
Jerry holds a Bsc in Social Sciences, MBA in Marketing, MBA in Corporate
Governance, Master of Philosophy in Sociology. He is also a member of Ghana
Bar Association.
He is putting himself up for the position of Assistant Secretary-General GOC, for
the love of sports and to influence and play a role in the charge to bring back the
glory days.
The 2021 GOC elections has been slated for to take place on 15th March 2021. Kudos and good luck to the candidates and to a new Ghana Olympic Committee.
