Berekum Chelsea maintained their home invincibility this season in the Ghana Premier League after holding in-form Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw at the Berekum Golden City Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Bibires were undefeated at home in the league this season before today’s game against Accra Hearts of Oak, having played 4 matches, drawing 2 and winning the rest.
Berekum Chelsea were however hopeful of beating the Phobians at the Golden City Park, but the Phobians proved too difficult on the field of play with stunning performance from the goalkeepers of both sides.
Referee Fuseini brought proceedings of the first half to and end with the scores at 0-0, after both sides made several unsuccessful attempts to find the net.
The second half was dominated by the visitors with the likes of Benjamin Afutu, Dominc Eshun and goalkeeper Richmond Ayi. Patrick Razak, Eric Dizan and Isaac came off the bench to augment coach Kosta Papic’s side but all attempts to find the net fell on rocks.
Augustine Henneh of Berekum Chelsea stole the show for his side in both halves of the game, but his efforts were denied by Ayi. After 90 minutes of display, there was no goal to separate the two sides and Accra Hearts of Oak return to the capital with 1 point.
