Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have both written to Aiyinase based premiership side Karela United asking for the transfer of five of their players, but the Passioners have agreed to release only two of the requested players for transfer, Fox sports can exclusively reveal.
Having qualified for the 2019/2020 CAF Champions league campaign, Asante Kotoko have until Sunday July 7, 2019 to submit to the CAF list of their registered players for the competition which kicks off on August 9, and management is busy in the market capturing the best players who play in the domestic league.
Hearts of Oak on the other hand, though failed to qualify for either the CAF Confederations Cup or the Champions League, are equally leaving no stone unturned as they look to make additions to coach Kim Grant’s side to make the team stronger ahead of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
Asante Kotoko have officially asked Karela for services of talisman Diewisie Taylor, in-form attacker Solomon Sarfo Taylor, centre back Ampem Dacosta, midfield sensation Emmanuel Keyeke and prolific forward Emmanuel Osei Baffour.
Accra Hearts of Oak on the other hand have asked for three of the five targeted by Kotoko namely, Diewisie Taylor, Solomon Sarfo Taylor and Emmanuel Keyeke.
Fox Sports is reliably informed that the Johnson Smith side have responded to Kotoko, informing them that only defender Ampem Dacosta and striker Emmanuel Osei Baffour are available, as the other three; Diewisie, Sarfo and Keyeke are set for deals abroad.
Karela United have permitted both Ampem Dacosta and Osei Baffour to travel to Kumasi to finalise personal terms negotiations with Asante Kotoko while the two clubs deal with the club side.
Hearts of Oak will reportedly receive the same response as Kotoko by telling them their targeted players are not for the local market. Should Karela remain firm on their current position, the implication is that Kotoko will have two of the five players they requested from Karela whereas rivals Hearts of Oak will be denied either of the three they asked to sign.
