Asante Kotoko top target Justice Blay has reiterated his readiness to return to the club on condition that the club takes the bull by the horn to meet the laid down requirements by his par/ent club, Medeama SC.
The midfielder joined Asante Kotoko on loan from Medeama in the 2018/2019 football season as part of the club’s transfer business to augment the then existing squad ahead of their continental campaign. The 28 year old spent two seasons with the Porcupine Warriors, and played a pivotal role CAF inter club competitions for Asante Kotoko.
In his second season, Justice Blay displayed yet another blistering performance for the club, winning the hearts of the fans of Asante Kotoko who never wanted him out of the club. Blay became one of the outstanding players in the 2019/2020 GPL season which which was eventually cancelled after 15 matches due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the expiration of his loan deal, attempts by Asante Kotoko to buy him outright from Meadeama SC proved futile after failing to meet the price tag placed on the player by his parent club. Both Blay and the numerous Asante Kotoko fans wish he returns to the club, and the player has opened up on what Asante Kotoko can do to get him back to the club.
“I think, for me you see, for now I don’t have a say in the issue, so I cannot decide”, Blay told ghanasportspage.com. Asked of the chances of him rejoining Kotoko, he confirmed his readiness and suggested the way forward.
“As I am saying, for now if they (Asante Kotoko) need me unless they buy me from my club, so if they will pursue then as for me I’m there. As a player all there is is for them to talk to the leadership of my club, and if the negotiations is okay and they will accept it then that’s all. The rest would be for me to go and perform well”, he concluded.
Asante Kotoko have made attempts to get Blay back in the team but Medeama’s position on price tag seem to have been an entrenched one, making the deal looking impossible to happen any time in this current football season.
