The CEO of Exim Bank Mr Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi says the board is ready for the pressure at the club. That all newly appointed board members of Kumasi Asante Kotoko are fully aware of the pressure at the club. Their acceptance of appointment indicates their readiness to serve Asante Kotoko in good faith. He recognized that pressure to perform is inherent in every club, and especially in Kotoko and they are well prepared to accommodate and calm down every pressure. He told Kumasi-based radio Fox FM in an interview with Rockson Adjei Yeboah, “We are ready to serve on the board irrespective of whatever pressure that arises”. In the interview, he appreciates that the supporters of the club are vibrant, very strong and vocal.
“We may be lambasted by the supporters for unsuccessful work. We are ready for the pressure at the club. It is all about setting up good policies for the club”, he explained.
“Kotoko is a big club and I am ready to serve Kotoko to victory”, he added. He further on stated that a decision on appointment from the palace of Manhyia (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) isn’t one that could easily be turned down. Their busy schedules irrespective Mr Boateng gave every indication of the readiness of appointed members of the board himself included to give off their very best to see the club to greater heights.
“Kumasi Asante Kotoko is built on the supporters as well as the media. We will collaborate with them in running Kotoko since they know the club very well. I can’t personally talk about the setting up Kotoko Academy. Decisions will be based on the outcome of our meetings.”
He further stated that player motivation would be very crucial. Our focus will be on the players, supporters and the media. “We will bring Kotoko to a different level”, he concluded.
