Nigerian UFC lightweight champion Israel Adesanya who has made great name for himself and country in a mixed martial arts career that started way back 2012 couldn’t hold on to his undefeated carer in the UFC after bowing to Jan Blachowicz in Las Vegas Nevada, Saturday night.
Israel Adesanya who recently moved from the lightweight division as the king in the division to heavyweight division in order to unified and continue as undefeated in the UFC Light and Heavyweight division as in the likes of Amanda Nunez, Conor Mcgregor, Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo as the UFC’s only simultaneous two-belt world champions couldn’t materialized.
UFC Light Heavyweight title-holder Jan Blachowicz (28-8) defeated previously undefeated Israel Adesanya (20-1) to retain light heavyweight title by unanimous decition victory at UFC 259 in Saturday night as he ended the fight in full mount while raining down punches on Adesanya. It was a terrible night for Israel.
The 38-year old Blachowicz made his first title defense after weathering an impressive start by Adesanya, the most feared middleweight champion moving up for a shot at history. The Polish champion turned their fight with two huge take downs and subsequent ground control in the fourth and fifth rounds.
Meanwhile, Israel Adesanya (20-1) promises to bounce back in a grand style and make his fans proud again.
