The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), organizers of the 2019 President Cup between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, have proposed October 6th and 13th as possible dates for the replay after the match was after ten minutes of kick off due to heavy downpour.
Referee Bernard Dumfe called the game off on Sunday just ten minutes after kick off due to heavy rain that left the pitch flooded, making it impossible for the match to continue.
Both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko announced via their twitter handles that the match had been called off and organizers are yet to come out with another date, but the wait may be over now.
” The game is apparently not coming off tomorrow the organizers have just announced. A new date would be made known later we have been made to understand”, Hearts of Oak said on their social media handle after the game had been called off.
” CONFIRMED! The 2019 President’s Cup match against Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium has been called off, after just ten minutes of play, due to the wet and soggy nature of the pitch”, Asante Kotoko stated via their twitter handle.
Organizer of the match, GHALCA, have on Monday, September 9th, 2019, proposed 6th and 13th October as possible dates for the replay. This period is to allow Asante Kotoko clear off their Champions League double header against Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel which is slated for 15th and 28th September, 2019.
