Thomas Partey scores first Arsenal goal- check out his superb stats against Aston Villa

Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey was magnificent for Arsenal in a dominant 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Friday night at the Emirates.

Partey scored his first-ever goal for the Gunners since his 50m move to the English Premier League last season; Pierre Emireck Aubamenyang and Emile Smith Rowe were also on the score sheet as Jacob Ramsey grabbed the consolations for Villa.

Arsenal had a thumping performance with the Ghanaian in the tick of affairs alongside Albert Sambi Lokonga as the double pivot on the night.

The 28-year-old put the home side in front after 23 minutes, connecting Smith Rowe’s corner which came off Partey’s shoulder before finding its way into the net.

He did not only score his first goal for Arsenal but also the first Ghanaian to score in the Red and White shirt.

The former Atletico Madrid man dominated the midfielder although he gave way the ball cheaply a couple of times, he was the team’s top performer in the opening half with most ball recoveries, joint shots, most tackles, joint most duels won.

Thomas Partey continued from where he left off before the break shielding the Arsenal defence and also ensuring a smooth transition to the opponent area- he had most touches in the game.

The North London side cruised to a comfortable win with Partey finishing the game with impressive numbers to make up for a below-par performance against Crystal Palace on Monday, where he gifted a goal.
