The Black Queens will today host the Harambee Starlets of Kenya in the first leg of the Olympic Games third round qualifiers at the Accra sports stadium.
The Mercy Quarcoe Tagoe led Black Queens will look to take advantage of the first leg being played at home to register a favourable score line ahead of the reverse fixture which comes off next Tuesday at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The stern clash will kick off at exactly 3:30pm local time at the Accra sports stadium.
Ghana coach Mercy Quarcoo Tagoe’s side go into the game as slight favourites with the arrival of foreign based stars such as Swedish side Assi IF midfield star Ernestina Abambila, coupled with the brilliance of Priscilla Okyere, Portia Boakye and experience goalie Fafali Dumahasi.
The Harambee Starlets on the other hand, led by coach David Ouma, will look to rely on the red hot form of top striker Nhwanahalima Adams to unlock the strong defence of the Queens. It promises to be a game to watch as the Black Queens are poised to get the job done to make it to the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year for the first time in their history.
