The Normalization Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association has officially withdrawn its notice released on Thursday calling for the GFA Extraordinary Congress.
The Ghana’s interim football governing body released a letter in which, in pursuant of Article 23.5.1 of the GFA Statutes, they invited all premier and division one clubs as well as the various regional football associations for an Extraordinary Session of Congress of the Ghana Football Association on Monday, 19th August, 2019 in Accra.
This was to look into and adopt the reviewed GFA Statutes, the GFA Regulations on elections among others, and to provide the necessary road map for the GFA presidential elections.
The surprise of many, the NC have, in a space of 24 hours after the release of the notice, released another letter withdrawn the letter, apologising for any inconveniences caused.
“The Normalization Committee would like to bring to your attention that, the Notice of Meeting of Extra-Ordinary Session of Congress of the Ghana Football Association dated 8th August, 2019 with reference number GFA/CGS/GC/VOL.116 is hereby WITHDRAWN”, the letter read.
However, no reasons were attached to the decision to withdraw the notice and no new date has been provided either.
“A new notice shall be communicated later. We apologise for any inconveniences caused”, the letter concluded.
