Zakaria joins Fernando CD on a season-long loan
Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fusieni has joined Spanish Segunda B side Fernando CD on loan for the 2020/21 season with an option to make the deal permanent.
The 22-year-old defender joined us as a teenager and his impressive progression at the youth team earned him a professional contract shortly after, upon the recommendation of the technical team.
Zakaria, who made his debut against Hasaacas three seasons ago, was a regular member of our first team and recently became the club’s captain, and his fine form in the 2019/20 season which was later truncated earned him a place in Ghana’s Black Stars B squad that participated and won Silver in 2020 WAFU Competition held in Senegal.
Zakaria, who is a very tall and commanding central defender, made appearances in the Premier League during the 2019/20 season.
