Premiership side Asante Kotoko star striker Sogne Yacouba has resumed taining at the Adako Jachie training ground on Monday as he steps up recovery to return to full fitness ahead of the Champions League preliminary return fixture against Kano Pillars in Kumasi.
The 29-year old Burkinabe goal poacher has been out of action for the Porcupine Warriors since he suffered an injury during the Normalization Committee Special Competition. Yacouba returned to the club last week following a written caution from the club for reporting the camp late after being given some time off.
Asante Kotoko physical trainer Isaac Ayebah (Sakoaba) took Yacouba through personal training during the club’s training session on Monday evening. The training involved running, stretching among others, which was just about physical works without the ball to ensure Yacouba regains fitness as soon as possible.
Should the medical team declare him fit, he will be available for selection against Kano Pillars on Sunday, August 25 when Kotoko hosts the Nigerian premier league side in the return leg of the Champions League match following a 3-2 defeat for Kotoko in the first leg in Kano, Nigeria.
