Enterprising and ambitious football enthusiast, lawyer Amanda Akuokor Clinton leads a list of four GFA presidential aspirants who face the five-member vetting committee ahead of the October 25 elections.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) elections, the fourth in Ghana’s democratic football history is set to be the fiercest since the pulling down of the Kwasi Nyantakyi led administration, with vetting of the various aspiring candidates entering day two on Friday.
For the first time in the history of Ghana’s football administration, the elections is set to feature a female candidate, lawyer Amanda Clinton, who, if elected, shall become only the third woman to head a Football Association in Africa, and the fifth woman in the world to have ever occupied such a high office in the administration of football.
The Friday’s vetting will see four GFA Presidential aspirants; lawyer Amanda Clinton, lawyer George Ankomah Mensah, Ghana premier League side Dreams FC Executive Chairman Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku and Nana Yaw Amponsah all vetted on the day.
Other presidential aspirants, George Afriyie, Wilfred Osei Palmer and Fred Pappoe will also be vetted tomorrow, Saturday, 28th September, 2019.
The Extra-Ordinary Congress for the elections has been scheduled to be held on Friday, October 25th, 2019.
