Accra Hearts of Oak’s Umbro Home jersey has been ranked the best in Africa and 32nd across the globe for the 2019/2020 season.
The ranking conducted by top ranking sports marketing firms SportsDirect (UK), Sportspar (Germany) and Footy.com has placed the Phobians home kit best ahead of clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona in the top 100 best jerseys in the world.
The pride of the Phobian gained a further international recognition when on the 12th February, 2001, America’s Broadcasting giants CNN ranked Hearts of Oak 8th best club in the world ahead of some Europe’s big clubs like Arsenal and SS Latzio. The Hearts of Oak brand however dropped along the line as on the pitch results weren’t forthcoming for some years, but having undergone rebranding coupled with a kit partnership with British sportswear manufacturers Umbro, the pride of the Oak Tree has been rejuvenated as the club’s home kit is ranked best in Africa.
The Continental Club Masters of Africa secured a three-year with British Sportswear brand Umbro last year under the leadership of former American club CEO Mark Noonan.
Meanwhile, while Hearts of Oak’s jersey is gaining global recognition, their domestic premier league fiercest rival Asante Kotoko, who are kitted by Portuguese sportswear Strike, are conspicuously missing in the top 100 best ranked jerseys list.
