Renowned and illustrious editor of footballmadeinghana.com, Tophic Abdul
Kadir Sienu has been elected a member of the newly constituted Division One
League Management Committee as a representative of zone 2 of the division one
league.
The celebrated sports journalist earned the spot to serve on the
eight-member committee after beating competition from others in the elections
on Wednesday in Accra.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) asked the three zones of the division
one league to elect two two representatives from each zone in addition to the
Chairman and vice who were appointed by the FA to complete the eight-member
committee.
Out of the 16 clubs in the zone two, 13 were present at the meeting and 6
persons contested for the two slots available, making the election keenly
contested. At the end of the elections, Tophic Abdul Kadir Sienu deservedly won
one of the two slots while Justice Boison grabbed the other.
The industrious ace sports writer and broadcaster, a former editor of
442gh.com Tophic, is by far a gateway to a new direction for not only zone two
division one league, but also a vessel through which innovative ideas could be
sought for implementation to take grass root football to a greater height.
Unlike zone two, the zone 1 and zone 3 clubs unanimously agreed to appoint
persons from the zones to represent them on the committee instead of electing.
Jones Abu Alhassan – Zone 1, David Obeng- Zone 1, Gideon Fosu – Zone 3, Eugene
Noel – Zone 3 were eventually appointed to represent them.
The GFA appointed Media Consultant Akwasi Agyeman as Chairman of the
Division One League Committee while Kenneth Thompson, the CEO of Dalex Finance
will be the Vice Chairman.
