Ghana Football Association has requested of the government of Ghana the permission to resume the 2019-2020 football season. The request also included resumption of other sporting disciplines.
According to the director of national sports Authority, Profesor Peter Twumasi The GFA has proposed the league to be resumed in Ghana with all matches to be played behind close doors. All footballers and club officials will be required to adhere to all protocols related to Covid-19 prevention. “We haven’t lifted the ban on all social gatherings and/or any other sporting activities as speculated in the local media”, he told Kumasi-based radio Kumasi Fm.
In his interview with Kumasi FM, Profesor Peter Twumasi mentioned the GFA has proposed groups of 3 to 5 players in training by the football clubs as well as playing with spectators. This initiative should help football fans observe the covid-19 social distancing protocols while staying at home and watching all the matches. Report to be followed.
