Aggrieved members of premier league giants Asante Kotoko supporters wing, Circle 0086 in Shangai, China have called on National Circles Council leadership to intervene and dissolve the leadership of the Shangai Circle with immediate effect.
This comes after the leadership are accused of inactivity, irresponsibility and lack of concern for matters pertaining to the supreme interest of the club. The Shagai Asante Kotoko supporters wing was formed in February 2019, and officially inaugurated on June 10, 2019 but the members of the union have seen virtually no meaningful input from the leadership, are calling for the immediate sacking of the leaders to pave way for fresh elections.
The Circle 0086 has a total members of 93. Till date, ghanasportspage.com can reliably report that out of the total number of 93 members, only 20 people have been issued with their membership cards, the remaining 73 members, after one year of the group’s existence, have still not received their membership cards and the leaders are unconcerned. Members who have paid for their membership cards have still not recieved their cards for over seven months now since payments were made, neither have they been updated by the leaders on what the problem is.
According to the members, the leaders look satisfied with the mere establishment and endorsement of the said Circle by the national Circles, but have shirked responsibilities that come with the various offices they are holding. Findings of ghanasportspage.com reveal that the election of the leaders were not in accordance with the Constitution of Circles, which requires the election of the Circle Chairman, who will then appoint his or executives.
On the contrary, every executive member of Circle 0086 was elected. The Chairman, Richard Koranteng, vice Chairman Prince Kenneth Amoah, Organizer, Agyekum Boamah Samuel as well as the P. R. O were all voted into office and are accused of feeling so bossy, having no regards for their members.
Before their election into office, the above persons were very active on the various platforms of the group, updating the members constantly with information from the club and engaging the members for discussions about Asante Kotoko on daily basis. However, they have, according to the members, gone to sleep after they were voted for and now no longer engage the members for any discussions, leaving the group dormant.
As a matter of urgency, the Asante Kotoko supporters in Shangai are calling on the National Circles Chairman, Christopher Demenya, his Vice Nana Kwame Dankwah and the other national leaders to immediately dissolve the current leadership of Circle 0086 and call for fresh elections for competent leadership.
The aggrieved members do not want the Union disbanded, but calls for immediate change of leadership and it’s left to be seen what action will be taken by the national Circles leadership.
