The project which began on July 3 this year, has seen a significant progress and seems likely to be done within the stipulated time regarding the first phase which is being handled by local contractors.

The work, since commencement, has been moving steadily and the project Manager, Justice Adehenu believes work is moving ahead of schedule, having spent a little over 60% of the three months given duration for the first phase of the project. The first phase being handled by local construction firm K.A Estates Limited, is expected to be completed by October.

Having made a significant progress so far, the first phase comprise of eight blocks which will include hostel blocks, gym, restaurant and a training centre. Base foundations have mostly been completed and are currently being filled up to be followed by leveling, then K. A Estate Limited will have their section done. The project manager Justice Adehenu briefed the club’s three-member Project Committee and affiliated media partners on the current state of the Academy project.

“This aspect of work is purely for the local contractor to do an he is constructing the foundations for the eight solid blocks that we are looking at; being it the semi detach buildings, the hostel blocks, the gym, the restaurant and the training centre”, he outlined.

“As we speak we just entered the seventh week of work and that is just about let’s say, 60% of the time duration that he’s been given to execute this job”, he said.

Regarding the completion date, Mr Adehenu stated that K.A Estates is near the completion of his portion, and that will be followed closely by the Turkish firm Prefabex who will ship in their equipment to continue with the second phase of the project.

“As I said his (K. A. Estates) part ends here ,by the time he’s done with the fillings he’ll cast the concrete on top and then his part of the work is done and then Prefabex will now come then come and install their part on it. They are also currently doing production at their end in Turkey and then as and when the sets are ready they will be shipping them down to come and do the installation”, he concluded.

Ideally, the entire project is estimated to be completed between December this year and January 2021.
