Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has officially accepted the verdict by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) with respect to his appeal filed against the Ghana Football Association (GFA), despite having ‘issues against the main grounds for the delivery of the final verdict”.
CAS delivered the verdict on the case on Wednesday morning, dismissing the appeal filed by Palmer seeking to clear his name of allegations against him by the GFA’s Normalization Committee based on which he was disqualified from the GFA presidential elections in October last year.
Palmer has issued official statement to announce his acceptance of the verdict, saying, the verdict brings the legal tussle between himself and the GFA to a finality. He described the win as victory for Ghana football.
“I am gratified by the fact that, this long legal tussle has finally come to an end. Even though I have issues against the main grounds for the final delivery of the final verdict, I have no other alternative than to accept it in good faith and move on in life. At the end of the day, it is victory for Ghana Football”, the statement read.
He prayed that everybody joins hands together with the FA, with all resources to move Ghana football to the level desired by all.
“It is my pray, that we all continue to pool our resources to move Ghana Football forward to reach the desired heights that we all wish for”, the statement continued.
