Kumasi based King Faisal have started their preseason preparations on a brighter note after defeating a well organised KNUST football team by 3-1 in a friendly match on Saturday.
Coach Slavisa Bozicic and his charges have been training at the Paa Joe Park near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) ahead of the new season, and have lined up two low friendly matches to warm the team up as the new league season draws nearer.
King Faisal on Saturday beat the KNUST football team by 3-1 at the Paa Joe Park, and are relentless as the “Babies” prepare for another game on Sunday morning.
The team will also play against Division One League side Wassaman United on Sunday at the same venue at 9:00 in the morning. The “Insha Allah” boys failed to win a single league match in the 15 matches played in the truncated 2019/2020 Premier League, but coach Slavisa Bozicic has targeted a top six finish in the 2020/2021 league campaign.
“I now have good players; maybe they’ve not played together before but I think placing 6th is a good position for me. We will definitely be ready for the league,” the 54-year-old Serbian told Joy Sports in an interview recently.
