The Ghana Football Association (GF) has received a cheque of GHC1,000,000 from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, presented on behalf of the central government.

This amount is an installment of a financial package availed by the Ghana government to support the 18 premier league clubs of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season for the 2020/2021 football season. The GFA took to Twitter to announce receipt of the cheque on Friday.

This forms part of government’s intervention in the struggles that have befallen premier league clubs due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, which has hugely affected the finances of the clubs.
