Striker Agyenim Boateng’s goal against Ebusua Dwarfs on Saturday was enough to secure Medeama SC their first win of the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
The Tarkwa based side traveled to Cape Coast to face Ebusua Dwarfs in match day five of the ongoing Ghana Premier League of the 2020/2021 season, poised for a win after enduring unfavourable results in their previous matches. Ebusua Dwarfs on the other hand were looking to make it two wins out of two after beating Berekum Chelsea by 1-0 in their previous league game. Coach of the Cape Coast based side Ernest Thompson Quartey made only one change in his starting line up that played against Chelsea in the previous game.
Simon Martey replaced Prince Kpodo in the starting eleven for Dwarfs while Medeama Head Coach, Samuel Boadu also made few changes to his starting eleven.
The two sides threaded cautiously in the first half, ending the first 45 minutes with no goal to either side.
Medeama kept the momentum and kept pressing for goal until striker Agyenim Boateng finally found the back of the net in the 71st minute to win the day for the visitors.
The win gives the Yellow and Mauves a lift on the league log with a point tally of 5 from their first 4 games. Find below how the two teams lined up for the game:
