The Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko SC, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has disclosed that Muniru Sulley and Fabio Gama were signed to replace Justice Blay and Mathew Anim-Kudjoe.
According to the former Ghana Football Association Presidential candidate, the duo were loan players who did well for Kotoko but due to huge demands they could not sign the on permanent deal.
Commenting on why prodigy young winger, Mathew Anim-Kudjoe, was not handed a permanent deal on Kumasi based Oyerepa FM, Nana Yaw Amponsah narrated that “The representatives of Anim-Cudjoe quoted $250,000 as the transfer fee for Anim-Cudjoe which we saw it as outrageous. We opted to look elsewhere for a good replacement for him [Matthew Anim-Cudjoe],”
He continued “We identified two players. The first option emerged on the radar of an Egyptian club where he was tabled with an offer of a $30,000 monthly salary. We had no option to contact Fabio Gama.”
“I sent his videos to the coach [Maxwell Konadu]. He approved his signing of Fabio Gama and asked us to request for his work permit.,”
“Let me state that Fabio Gama was a direct replacement for Matthew Anim-Cudjoe. Oh yeah… he’s the replacement and the supporters should wait for his debut,” he concluded.
On Justice Blay, he said “The alternative for Justice Blay is Muniru Sulley whose resale value is around $500,000. He has played in the Ghana League, Romania, Belarus, Portugal, etc.”
“Medeama quoted 300,000 cedis and a future transfer fee of 40% on Justice Blay but we were also quoting 200,000 cedis and 40% onward but Moses Parker wasn’t ready.”
Both Muniru Sulley and Fabio Gama have failed woefully to fill the vacuum created by Justice Blay and Anim-Kudjoe.
