Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Accra Hearts of Oak have denied reports in some sections of the media that claims the club is set to release seven of the first team players based on coach Kosta Papic’s recommendation.
Reports in some sections of the local media on Tuesday claimed that head coach Kosta Papic has told the top brass of the club to prune down the squad by sacking some enlisted seven players who are not of standard enough to help him build a strong side to challenge for the league title.
The skeletal reports failed to name a single player that is rumoured to be part of the supposed seven players to be released by Hearts of Oak.
In a drastic response to the rumours, Accra Hearts of Oak have taken to Twitter to quash the reports, urging the general sporting public and their fans to ignore such “false” reports and keep supporting the club to glory.
“The @HeartOfOakGH Management has not released any player from the club as speculated by a section of the media. The reports are false. We therefore appeal to all to ignore that report and continue to support the team at all times”, Hearts of Oak wrote on Twitter.
Accra Hearts of Oak are currently enjoying a rise in their performance and have gone without defeat in their last two league matches. The Phobians are now 5th on the league table after 8 matches with 12 points, just 3 points behind league leaders Ashanti Gold Sporting Club.
