Brilliant goals from Manaf Omar and Victor Aidoo helped Accra Hearts Of Oak move up to 4th in the league table with a 2-0 win at Techiman Eleven Wonders
The win takes the Phobians’ impressive run to 4 wins in their last 6 games and now unbeaten in their last four outings, moving 4th in the League table, just two points adrift leaders Karela United who won on Sunday.
Experienced defender Nuru Sulley returned to the starting line-up to partner Mohammed Alhassan in central defence.
efore half time, Frederick Ansah-Botcwey tried his luck from distance but it was a rising effort.
Three minutes into the second half, Victor Aidoo fired in a powerful shot with the outside of his foot to beat Moosie for the second time in the game.
Hearts of Oak brought on Patrick Razak and Abednego Tetteh in the latter stages of the game. The latter tried his lucky from outside the box but his effort was cushioned by a deflection on Tetteh Nortey.
Moosie had to be alert on his line to coolly collect Afutu’s header on a floated ball from Fatawu Mohammed. Wonders tried to come back into the game but they looked disjointed in midfield and toothless in attack.
Another beautiful game took place in Aiyinase Park, Karela United welcomed Berekum Chelsea at home. A brace from Diawusie Taylor and Kwame Boateng gave Karela United a 4-1 win against Berekum Chelsea to send them to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.
Karela made a brilliant start and deservedly opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Diawusie Taylor. But Chelsea replied 17 minutes later through John Andoh in the 29th minute with an absolute stunner.
Asante Kotoko traveled to the Red Bull arena at Sogakope on Sunday to face WAFA with a 1-1 draw .
The game gave the platform to Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora to play against his former side for the first time in three seasons following his stint in Tanzania with Azam FC.
Asante Kotoko tried to keep a clean sheet especially in the first 20 minutes and worked hard to attain that as they matched the home side squarely in the opening stages of the game.
Just after the hour mark, Emmanuel Sarkodie threaded a ball through for Kwame Poku to strike past goalkeeper Boliver Owusu for the equalizer in the 62nd minute. Michael Dwamena aimed at the top corner with a curler but it was over the frame.
