Ghana Premier League power house Asante Kotoko thrashed opponents Bechem United at the Len Clay stadium in an outstanding Ghana Premier League Match Day 16 game on Wednesday.
The game was rescheduled due to Asante Kotoko’s then participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
A superb strike from Ismail Abdul Ganiu in the first 15 minutes of the game put the Porcupines a 1-0 lead. Few minutes later, another classic goal from the in-form Brazilian playmaker Fabio Gama with a superb assist from Augustine Okrah, ending the half with 2-0 goal tally to the credit of the fabulous boys.
Newly signed striker Francis Andy Kumi made it 3-0 for the Reds in the 25th minute into the second half to add beauty to his memorable debut goal for the club.
Michael Vinicius came off the bench to replace the 22-year old former Unistar academy boy Kumi, who joined the Porcupines on transfer deadline day. Vincius, another debutant for Asante Kotoko on the day, sealed it for coach Mariano Barreto’s side by making it 4-0 in the 79th minute with just two touches.
Marriano Barreto’s side are now third on the League log with 31 points ahead of their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Berekum Chelsea on Sunday at the Len Clay stadium in week 19 of the GPL.
