Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has sent a strong message to the Ghana Football Association’s player status committee of the club’s disagreement with the ruling that is asking them to pay former coach Maxwell Konadu for unilaterally terminating his contract.
A response from the club said it intends to lodge an appeal over the ruling with the Ghana FA.
A statement signed by the acting communication director of the club read “the club disagrees with the portion of the decision awarding $36,000 to the former coach as residual salary. An appeal shall accordingly be lodged in that respect”.
The Ghana Football Association(GFA), Players’ Status Committee (PSC), has asked Asante Kotoko to pay the former coach, Maxwell Konadu over $36,000 for as residual salary from January to December 2021, Ghc 30,000 as outstanding signing-on fees, and Ghc 2,000 as winning bonus for two matches for unilateral termination of his contract.
The PSC however rejected the coach’s plea for damages and legal cost of $60,000 from the club.
