Together with Michael Essien and other talented youngsters at the then Academicals,(Ghana’s U -12 national team), George Yamoah was seen as one of the best-talented kids in the country and he lived up to that billing.

He later played alongside Asamoah Gyan and other top Stars at Liberty Professionals before Asante Kotoko snatched him.
George Yamoah, nicknamed Armani earned his place in the Kotoko team that he had supported as a kid, playing regular football for the club and helping them to win honours for several seasons before calling it quits.

Today, George is not actually pulling crowds to the stadium but winning souls for Jesus Christ. He is now a pastor with Power Giants Embassy, located at Goil Conference Hall, Afrancho in the Ashanti Region.

Headed by Pastor Joseph Adjei and with programs to let the Word of God reach people, Yamoah pays homage to the Head Pastor he calls his father and believes it’s time to be close to his God and reciprocate the love shown on his career.

“It’s the word of God and whatever ways I can help to spread the word of God and win souls for Christ, that’s where I should be”. He said

George may not have totally forgotten about football as he regularly plays around with old teammates and clubs around Kumasi, but he is very happy with his newfound place and never stops talking about his happiness. He fondly talks about Matthew 6:24 saying nobody can serve two masters and that his first love is God, so wherever the Lord sends him, he will go and ends with James 4:8

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded”. He finally proclaims that.

“THE ONLY WAY WE CAN DRAW NEAR TO GOD IS TO LEAVE SIN BEHIND US”.
