Ghanaian forward Kojo Obeng Junior netted the only goal in their game against Techiman Eleven Wonders FC at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Friday.
Eleven Wonders who were determined for a home win begun the fight with pace and agility where they made some incursions in the first ten minutes but didn’t see the goal net smiling at them. They continued with brilliant composure right from defense having curtailed Salifu Ibrahim, Manaf Umar, and Obeng Junior.
Few minutes into the second quarter of the clash, Coach Samuel Boadu started to make some tactical approach with the switching of some places in order to come into the game.
Hitting hard on the homers, Eleven Wonders defense line was caught on the line as Hearts of Oak SC benefited from a defensive blunder to score the only goal of the game on the 26th minute following Techiman Eleven Wonders center-back decision to chest the ball to the hands of Goalkeeper Abdulai Ibrahim.
Kojo Obeng Junior took the advantage to finish it with a left-foot touch.
Techiman Eleven Wonders refused to give up, as they progressed with the attacking skills using the laterals. The likes of Amos Frimpong and Micheal Osei made some dangerous effort upfront but could not still place their hands on an equalizer before the first half.
Severe pressure was mounted on the away team as it got them restricted to playing five defenders before the hour mark.
The homers made incursion to get a penalty but Referee Adaari refused to point at spot. Five additional minutes was added by fourth official but still didn’t see the favor of the home team.
Obeng Junior goal stood as the only difference to ensure Hearts of Oak SC climb top of the league table with 46 points, awaiting Asante Kotoko SC game against WAFA on Saturday.
