Asante Kotoko SC speedster Emmanuel Gyamfi says it’s unfortunate his outfit failed to break their long standing jinx in Dormaa Ahenkro.
The Okum Apem, Apem B3 Ba side were hoping to sit top of the ongoing 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table after their match day 27 encounter.
They were led to Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu park on Saturday by Portuguese trainer Mariano Barreto for the crunch, however failed to win.Asante Kotoko SC has failed to score a league goal in Dormaa since Aduana Stars joined the top-flight in 2009.
The Ogya Boys always find a better way to handle Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak SC at home.
After fruitful action at the Dormaa Nana Agyemang Badu park, both teams failed to count on their goalscoring prowess to end the game goalless.
Deputy captain of Asante Kotoko SC, Emmanuel Gyamfi believes it was a well fought game though they were self motivated to beat Aduana Stars to help them on the league table.
“The entire team was motivated to move in and break the jinx in Dormaa” There is always a way to break every record and we were self motivated for the test”Beating Aduana Stars would have helped us alot on the league log but without losing, a point is better”, Gyamfi told Richard Ntow Gyan on Adanse3
“We have accepted the outcome of the game, well accepted in good fate, we were very much determined to end our long standing winless streak in Dormaa but that could not see us through””We are happy with the 1-1 draw, we live to fight again”, he concluded.
The draw leaves Asante Kotoko SC second on the league standing with 47 points, two points behind arch rivals Hearts of Oak SC.
