Tamale based Lower Division side Steadfast FC have been declared winners of their match day 23 encounter against Techiman City FC.
The former Ghana Premier League side failed to forfeit their Division One League game against Steadfast FC. Leading to the home team petitioning the Ghana Football Association to invoke article 33(1)(f) of the Division One League regulations of GFA against the respondent.
Upon weeks of sitting, the GFA Disciplinary Committee have released their findings ruling the case in favor of Steadfast FC, the home team.
They will be awarded three points and a plus of three goals from the accumulated points of Techiman City FC.
In addition, Techiman City will pay a fined of money to the Ghana Football Association of which 50% will be paid to the petitioner, Steadfast FC.
Decision:
That for failing to report for the match day 23 without just cause, Techiman City FC shall forfeit the match in accordance with article 33(1)(f) of the Division One League regulations of the GFA.
That having been found to have forfeited the match, Techiman City shall be considered as having lost the match in accordance with 33(3).
Accordingly, three points and three goals are hereby awarded in favour of Steadfast FC in accordance with article 33(3) and 33(10) of the Division One League regulations of the GFA.
That in addition, being the defaulting club Techiman City shall lose three points from the clubs accumulated points from their previous matches pursuant to article 33(5) (a) of the Division One League regulations of GFA.
In addition, Techiman FC have been fined Two Thousand five hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC 2,500.00) payable to the GFA for which 50% shall be paid to Steadfast FC.
