Football fans in England are expected to return to full-capacity stadiums for the 2021/22 Premier League season.
This follows a directive from UK Prime Minister Borris Johnson that most of the covid-related restrictions will be eased in the coming weeks.
With the one-metre rule set to end, fans will be allowed back in stadiums with fewer restrictions when the new season kicks off on August 13.
The wearing of masks is also set to be scrapped off, although people could be allowed to do so in “enclosed and crowded places”.
Premier League matches allowed a percentage of fans in the last match of the 2020/21 season, but the latest development will be good news to the supporters.
The last game to be played in front of a fully-packed stadium was Leicester’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa in March 2020.
Since then, stands have been close to empty, save for the last match of the campaign.
