Former Asante Kotoko defender, Abdul Baba Rahman, says the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season is one of the best he has witnessed.
The Black Stars left-back stated that the two successful clubs in the league- Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, having a run in on each other at the top of the table has made this term enjoyable.
“I think this is one of the best season’s I have watched, not even when I was playing. It is really exciting to see the giants going forward,” he was speaking to Joy Fm’s Gary Al Smith.
The Rainbow club defeat the Porcupines 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium two weeks ago to stretch the lead at the top.
Rahman, therefore, is hopeful that the Accra based side will slip up in their subsequent games for Kotoko to capitalize and win the ultimate at the end of the campaign.
“I watched it (Hearts of Oak vs Kotoko) and unfortunately my team (Kotoko) lost, but I think we are still in it, we are still in contention, a little slip from Hearts of Oak and then we will be back on top again.
“Like over the years they (Kotoko) have been champions for quiet sometime now and for a true Champion you just need to keep fighting till the last point so I think its going to be a good fight and motivation for them and I hope Hearts take a slip.”
With two matches left on the calendar, Hearts lead the table with 60 points whereas Kotoko falls three points behind the Phobians.
