The winger has been heavily linked to the Phobians in recent weeks. The enterprising Benjamin Yorke has had several Ghanaian topflight clubs including Hearts, Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko, and Aduana Stars chasing after his signature.
Samartex were unwilling to let go of its prized asset this season as the hierarchy of the club were optimistic of earning a promotion to Ghana’s top-flight division and would need their best players around to champion this cause.
As such, the club warded off all interests in their players including Yorke.
However, with the season almost over, Hearts of Oak are on the brink of sealing a move for the young-sensation. The highly-rated attacker was spotted with Hearts of Oak management member Alhaji-Akambi at Cape Coast on Thursday intensifying rumours over the possible transfer.
Yorke has reportedly rejected a new contract extension offer from Samartex with Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC keeping a close eye on the player but it is likely he will join the Phobians in the coming days.
Hearts at the start of this season traded with Samartex for the services of Victor Aidoo.
