Legon Cities FC manager, Bashir Hayford, has hit out at ex-Black Stars Coach, Maxwell Konadu for accepting Cities technical director role while the former was still in charge.
The former Asante Kotoko gaffer was appointed as a technical director according to a release by the Royals dated 4th July, 2021 to beef up the technical team while they battle relegation.
However, Maxwell Konadu has been in charge of all coaching duties with Hayford seem to be out of the picture at the moment.
The former Black Stars B trainer accepted the role with two games left to complete the season, which Bashir Hayford could not wrap his head around.
“If you knew I am a senior coach, why did you accept the job with only two matches left?
“Why don’t you allow your senior to even finish the season? That’s what I will do; I don’t jump into jobs like that.”
“I think my face is intimidating because he said I was a senior coach and that he gave me that respect and so he wouldn’t feel happy. So indeed, if you are given a job and in my presence, you say this then you are telling them you cannot work with me and that they should sack me” he said in an interview quoted by Kickgh.com
Meanwhile, Konadu has lost his first two games in helms of affairs.
Legon Cities will need nothing but a win in their last game of the season against Eleven Wonders to escape relegation.
