Bofoakwa Tano have their noses in front to make it out of Zone 1 to the Ghanaian top-flight this weekend after the Ghana Football Association discarded a possible points deduction case against them.
Ghana Football Association’s General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo on Friday, July 23, 2021, scrapped Saeed Alhassan’s petition against Bofoakwa Tano over falsification of registration documents of player, Yaw Sarfo Patrick.
Saaed Alhassan, Popularly known as Zakito of Oyerepa FM sports petitioned the GFA that Bofoakwa has falsified the registration of Sarfo Patrick by registering him with a new name (Nyame Stephen Patrick) and a new date of birth.
However, the FA’s checks in the FIFA Connect Registration system and their records, the falsification was not done by Bofoakwa Tano but by another club who transferred the said player to the Sunyani-based club.
The GFA has immediately suspended the player’s licence and the club that transferred the player to Bofoakwa will be charged by the GFA prosecutor if found guilty.
With this ruling, Bofoakwa Tano still remains on top of Zone One of the Division One League with 64 points, two points ahead of Real Tamale United heading into the last round of matches this weekend.
Bofoakwa will travel to the Golden City Park to take on Berekum Arsenal while RTU will host Unity FC at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.
