Hearts of Oak captain, Fatawu Mohammed has named Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona as the toughest player he faced in the just ended 2020-21 Ghana Premier League season.
Fatawu has been one of the breakout stars of the Premier League season so far. Though he did not feature in most games under Kosta Papic, he has reached another level this term under Samuel Boadu, with his well-rounded defending and attacking combination making him one of the most accomplished full-backs in the league.
Though no player would be happy to walk on the field of play and see Fatawu defending against them, there’s one man in particular who he revealed he didn’t enjoy facing. He’s quoted by Happy FM naming Berekum Chelsea winger Stephen Amakona as the toughest opponent in the just ended premier league season.
“Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea was my toughest winger in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier league, he’s very quick and can dribble too, so whenever you meet him in a game, he gives you a tuff time as a right back”
He added that he’s expecting the black Stars Call up in Ghana upcoming World Cup Qualifiers, it’s every player’s dream to serve his country, he added.
Fatawu, 29, guarded the Phobians the clinch the 2020-21 Ghana Premier League title for the first time in twelve years and will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
The former Real Tamale United (RTU) player made 26 appearances with seven assists in all competitions.
