Felix Annan has requested for a contract termination at Asante Kotoko SC, according to Oyerepa FM’s Eugene Adu-Poku (Striker).
Once an untouchable member of the club, Annan has had a tumultuous season at Kotoko playing third fiddle to Abalora, and Baah in the last two seasons.
With Razak Abalora set to remain as Kotoko’s first-choice keeper for the foreseeable future, having arrived for an extortionate amount of money, Annan will look to lay his claim for a starting berth elsewhere.
Adu-Poku reports that, Annan has called the management of the club for a possible contract termination due to his lack of game time – however, the club believes Annan should not leave for free and are ready to cash in on him with few months left on his current contract. Although talks are currently ongoing.
The 26-year-old joined Kotoko from WAFA in 2011 at age 15. Annan signed a contract extension with the club in December 2019 under Coach Maxwell Konadu.
Annan was named Asante Kotoko captain in August 2018 following the departure of Amos Frimpong.
Hearts of Oak have shown keen interest in landing the goalkeeper with recent media report stating that Annan was spotted at the Phobians’ secretariat in Adabraka, Accra as they aim to bolster the depth of their squad ahead of the 2021-22 football season.
