Asante Kotoko are considering letting defender Samuel Frimpong leave on loan this summer to help him acquire crucial playing time next season.
Frimpong, 24, penned a two-year contract extension with the Reds few months ago but failed to provide competition for Christopher Nettey at the right-back position last campaign.
He has failed to establish himself as a regular starter at the Kumasi-based club since he joined in 2018 and will not be part of the team for the 2021-22 football season.
The Porcupines have now decided a loan is the ideal way for Frimpong to continue building himself.
Although move to a mid-table Premier League club appears to be the most realistic outcome, several clubs have been alerted by Frimpong’s availability and are prepared to provide first team role to the defender.
Samuel Frimpong joined Kotoko from division one side Bekwai Youth Academy before the club loaned him out to Karela United during the truncated premier league season.
Frimpong featured 19 times for Kotoko in the 2021-22 Premier League campaign, started 13 games while coming off the bench of 6 different occasions.
